It seems like outdoor chairs are all the rage these days.  Everywhere you go you see people sitting on them and enjoying their time outside.  Part of the reason for this is the recent influx of millions of cheap foldable camp chairs imported from overseas.  As anyone who has been to Wal-Mart, Target, or stores like that recently knows, you can get your hands on a camp chair for around $20, and it gets you up off the ground.  Before you go out and spend your money though, you should know about the different kinds of chairs that you can get, since the comfort levels are quite different amongst them.

While the normal outdoor camp chairs may be very common, they are only comfortable for one type of use:  sitting upright.  That’s right, if all you want to do is sit down upright with your back supported, they are fine.  However, if you want to rest your eyes and take a nap in one of these, they aren’t that good, as anyone who has tried to fall asleep in an airplane seat knows all too well.  A much better choice is to get a sphere chair, since it is designed in an entirely different way.  While they might not be as good for sitting perfectly upright, they are definitely a lot better for kicking back, lounging, or taking a nap.  The reason why these chairs are more comfortable is because of the way they are shaped. Your entire back, head, and neck get support from the cushion, and you can recline and just relax.

One of the best things about these foldable sphere chairs is that you can get them in all kinds of colors or designs.  Regular camp chairs seem to pretty much come in blue, red, or black, but sphere chairs are available in many more colors.  You can get a pink sphere chair if you want or a brown sphere chair for something darker.  If you are into sports, you can get a logo sphere chair that has your favorite team’s design on it – they have them for both college and professional.

One thing that you should know about these chairs is that they are quite a bit heavier than the cheap camp chairs.  The kids sphere chairs are only a few pounds, but the full sized adult sphere chairs weigh about 20 pounds.  Sure, that is fine for just taking in and out of the car, but I wouldn’t want to hike very far with it!  That said, if you are going to use it in your living room or in your backyard and not move it around all the time, they are perfect.
